Investigative Support Bureau
Goals
The Investigative Support Bureau’s goals are:
To reduce the amount of Special Investigation Unit investigations through front-line officer education.
To act as a liaison between the Peel Regional Police and the Special Investigations Unit in cases where their mandate is invoked regarding serious injury or death, resulting from actions of the Police.
To investigate all police involved shootings, where no injury has taken place.
To prepare Administrative Reviews on investigations, as directed by the Officer-in-Charge of Professional Standards.
Objective
The Investigative Support Bureau acts as a support service to officers involved in Special Investigation Unit investigations, and assists the SIU by providing the required information necessary to resolve their investigation.
