Cyber Academy

The Cyber Academy* is a comprehensive program offered by the crime prevention experts at Peel Regional Police to help educate Peel citizens on how to use the internet in a safe and fun way, and avoid risks. Parents, caregivers and educators are most likely to benefit from this FREE program.
At the Cyber Academy you will learn about:
- Computer Safety; passwords, firewalls, viruses, spam, phishing.
- Technological Crime; wireless routers, latest technologial developments, emerging trends and risks.
- Child Exploitation; child pornography, on-line luring, social networking, cyberdating.
- "...at the click of a mouse..." cyber-bullying using digital mediums.
- "Unlocking the Secrets" cyber-fraud; how identities are stolen.
- "Do You Know Where Your Children Are?" can you trust the internet? how cyber-paedophiles target/identify/track young victims on-line.
- ...and much more.

Guest lecturers are police officers who will share their expertise and investigative experience. They include members from:

Due to some of the content of the subject matter, this academy is available only to those who are eighteen years of age or older.
