Cyber Academy

The Cyber Academy* is  a comprehensive program offered by the crime prevention experts at Peel Regional Police to help educate Peel citizens on how to use the internet in a safe and fun way, and avoid risks.  Parents, caregivers and educators are most likely to benefit from this FREE program.  

At the Cyber Academy you will learn about:

• Computer Safety; passwords, firewalls, viruses, spam, phishing.
• Technological Crime; wireless routers, latest technologial developments, emerging trends and risks.
• Child Exploitation; child pornography, on-line luring, social networking, cyberdating.
• "...at the click of a mouse..." cyber-bullying using digital mediums. 
• "Unlocking the Secrets" cyber-fraud; how identities are stolen.  
• "Do You Know Where Your Children Are?" can you trust the internet? how cyber-paedophiles target/identify/track young victims on-line.
• ...and much more.

* All required sessions must be attended to receive a certificate.*

Seminar Location: Emil V. Kolb Centre for Police Excellence at 180 Derry Rd. E., Mississauga, in the Community Room.  

Due to some of the content of the subject matter, this academy is available only to those who are eighteen years of age or older.
