Objectives and Goals

  • Advises on matters relating to media, community, public and government relations.
  • Advises on policy and strategy relating to public affairs and marketing communications.
  • Develops corporate policy, objectives and standards for Public Affairs.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate internal and external communication strategies encompassing media, community, public and government relations.
  • Monitors public attitude as it relates to the Peel Regional Police.

Provides information to the various media outlets and facilitates the dissemination of information to the citizens that we serve.

The Police Show

The Police Show evolved into a weekly show that broadcast live to a potential viewer-ship of almost a million people. The show's intention is to inform the public about the police, the laws and crime prevention topics. The video format provides promotes better community relations.
Check your local listings. Topics include Travel Safety; Retail Crime prevention; Home Security; Personal Safety; Stalking and Sexual Assaults; Street Proofing and Drugs; Frauds; Impaired Driving and Auto Theft.

Peel Crime Stoppers

Is a non-profit organization, which rallies the community, the news media and the police in a collective campaign against crime. Crime Stoppers’ mandate is to fight crime and to combat two major problems that often deter people from reporting crime:

 

APATHY - by offering cash awards,

FEAR - by offering anonymity.
